LONDON TO BUILD RADIO HEADQUARTERS
LONDON. Dec. 2. The British Broadcasting Corporation plans to occupy palatial new quarters at Portland Place, near the famous Queen’s Hall. Compared with the present Savoy Hill home the British Broadcasting Corporation will enjoy greatly enlarged studio space. Four of the nine studios will bo more than double the size of the present largest room. There will also be a super-studio three stories high, capable of accommodating an audience of 1000 persons. Special antiacoustic arrangements will insulate all studios from each, other and from outside noise. Building operations arc to begin immediately, and the structure is expected to be ready in 1931, at a cost of some £500,000.
