FIRST OF NEW YEAR. SMALL ENTRY SELLS WELL. For tho first sale of the new year in Feilding yesterday, a small ■ entry of sheep and cattle came forward to a moderate attendance of operators. The following arc the quotations:— Fat sheep: B.F. 2-tlis. 29s Cd to 30s. Store sheep: 2-t-li ewes 33s 3d. Fat cattle: Heifers £9 to £l2 15s; cows, £7 2s, £7 Os, £7 17s lid, £S 9s, £lO 2.) Gd, £lO 10s to £ll ss. Store cattle: Forward cows £4 12s Gd to £5; cows and calves, £7 2s Gd to £8 10s; wcanor heifers, £2 ss, £3 to £3 ss; yearling heifers, £7 10s to £8 10s. Dairy stock: Springing heifers, £S; cows in milk, £S, £9, £lO, £ll 5s to £l2 12s Gd.
