SURPRISE PARTY AT “GLENTOTO”
"Glentoto,” Makino Road, Feilding, the charming home of Mrs. George Turnbull, was on New Year’s night, the scene of a very delightful surprise party, when the young friends of the hostess and her sou, Jim, gathered there to spend a most enjoyable evening. "Glentoto.” with its many large and lofty rooms, wide hall and long verandah, lends itself admirably to entertaining, and a dance in its spacious and picturesque drawing-room is always much enjoyed. A delectable supper was dispensed in the diningroom, the tables being gay with gold and crimson roses. Mrs. Turnbull rvore a delightful picture frock fashioned with tight bodice and full drooping skirt, the waistline being finished in front with a largo bow centred with a diamante buckle. Those present included Mrs. Gilbert Hassall and the Misses K. and M. Johnston, P. Goodbehere, N. Pratt, E. and B. Eliott, F. and P. Conway, B. Woodward (Hawke’s Bay), M. Ross, D. Duthic, A. Phillips, and Messrs. G. Hassall, M. Merrick, F. Gorton, J. Turnbull, T. Bailey, J. Goodbehero (Gisborne), W. Boddy, J. Perry, D. Ross, W. I. Pratt (Napier), B. Connell, R. Brewer (Wellington), M. Conway, and Pridean (Hawke's Bay).
