Dr. and Mrs. Bransgrove have returned to town after a holiday spent at Muritai. .
The Earl of Plymouth has been appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Dominion Affairs, in succession to Lord Lovat. Dr. J. Schmidt, the Danish scientist who is at present in Palmerston North, will visit several of the Manawatu dairy factories this morning and Massey Agricultural College this afternoon. Yesterday morning he spent a pleasant time with Danish settlers at Karerc and in the afternoon, was taken for a motor drive up the Pohangina Valley. His departure from Palmerston North is indefinite, as it depends upon the time of the arrival of tho research ship Dana at Wellington, but he will probably lea*w» in a day or two.
