BUSH FIRES RAGING IN NEW SOUTH WALES
SQUATTER GALLOPS THROUGH FLAMES. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, Jan. 3. A message from Barallier states that tush fires are sweeping over a frontage of 15 miles between the Wollondilly and Abercrombie Rivers. The outbreak has been increasing in intensity for days. Moro than 10,000 acres have been swept, and station properties and fencing have been burnt out!
Mr. Lachlan Lang’s homestead at Bindock station has been gutted. Mr. Lang, who became surrounded by flames, had a narrow escape from death. Mounting a terrified horse, he managed to gallop through the thinnest part of the fire. * It is feared that 100 sheep have been burnt to death.
Helped by a sttong wind, the lire has become beyond control at the Yerranderie silver mine and several homosteads are in imminent danger.
