United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, Jan. 1. The world’s output of motor ships in. 1928 is a record—lß9 vessels of 1,177,235 gross tonnage, compared with 137 of Slt',ooo in 1927. British production was 73 totalling 470,405 tons andt exceeds the next three countries combined and nearly doubles the 1927 tonnage. At present 270 ships of 1,763,000 ton* are building. This shows a slight TO' duction on last year, but. is entirely due to a reduction in tankers, as passenger and cargo liners show increases.
