ARRANGEMENTS FOR TOURNEY. V meeting of the committee was hJd on Monday night for the purpose oii making final arrangements for the tournament to be held on Friday, 30th inM . Mr E. E. Short presiding. Mr. W. Ray worth having resigned the presidency of the club, Mr. E. E. Short has been elected president. Mr. H ( Frcckiington was placed as vice•pressdent in Mr Shorts seat, and Mr. I, Braiuwcl’l takes a scat on the committee. Mr. Hart, with the secretary (Mr. D. C. Culliuanc) arc the trustees for the bank account. Officials for the tournament were appointed as follows: —Medical officers, Drs Phillips, Cameron and Salmoud; announcer, Mr. E. E. Short; call steward, Mr Christenson; medical and scale steward, Mr Parsonage; time stewards, Messrs A. McCdrkindaic -and H. Smithers; gong steward; Mr. E. H. Brewer; official seconds,. Messrs H. L. Firth and F. Heffcrnan; door stewards, Messrs E. H. McGruer, W. H. Hart, H. G. Frecklington and members of the fire brigade; halj stewards, Messrs T. K. Hay and 0. G. Sporle; cashier, Mr. J, H. Coppock; secretary and treasurer, Mr Cullinane; assistant secretary, Mr. L. Bramwell. The referee has not yet been appointed. A number of trophies have been promised by Messrs E. E. Short, H. Frecklington, Hart, G. Wells, and the D.C.L. Co. Messrs Hart, Parsonage, and Burrell were appointed a sub-committee, to arrange for the musical part of the programme. The match committee reported having secured some excellent talent for the tournament. Competitors are to be present from Wellington, Palmerston North, Wanganui, Pahiatua, Rongotca and many local lads.
