ST. PATRICK’S FOOTBALL CLUB ANNUAL DINNER
A PLEASANT HOUR.
Last night the wearers of the green jerseys foregathered for their annual dinner, Mr. C. McAlinden, president of the Club, was in chair, and with tcasts and happy'comradesship a congenial hour was spent. The gold medal for the best forward in the junior grade, donated by Mr. T. Kiely, was presented to Mr. A. Nesbitt, amidst applause. The medal was of unique and appropriate design, being on the form of a,shamrock encircling a Rugby ball. After the Loyal Toast had been honoured, Mr. L. B. Cope proposed: the health of the four staunchest supporters of the Club. In briefly paying a tribute to their work, he stated that their president, Mr. McAlinden, had done yeoman service in assisting at the coaching of all players. Mr. Kiely had stuck loyally to the juniors throughout the season and great credit was duo to him for that team's prominent showing. Mr. W. McSweeney had likewise rendered great service,, in coaching the third grade team, while Mr. S. Maree had been one of the Club’s best supporters,-and'had been of great assistance at all ings. / In replying, Mr. Kiely said that the junior team, though not winning any championships, had performed very creditably and three of its members, L. Cope, F. Kerrigan and:J., Rose, had secured representative honours. Ho hoped to see the Club steadily climbing up the ladder next year. - The toasts of the’ captains of the junior, third and fourth grade team respectively, L. Cope, E.- Norris and J. Rush wore honoured, as were also “Kindred Clubs” and "Absent Players. ’ ’
