When the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council began the hearing of a case concerning 15.000 acres of Burmese land, it expected to be engaged for five weeks.
Each side was represented by nine lawyers. One of those engaged .had his brief endorsed for 3000 guineas, with a daily refresher of 100 guineas.
