LINO OPERATOR DIES ON THE JOB
50 YEARS OP NIGHT WOKE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night.
John Crawford, aged 74 years, a linotype operator in the “Press” office, fell from his chair while at his machine to-night and died half an hour later. ' Dr. Crawshaw attended ‘the dying roan but attempts to restore him failed. Crawford joined the service of the “Press” in 1878. and would have completed 50 years of night work if ho bad \ lived till -February nest.
