SUGAR BOMBARDMENT IN PRAGUE ASSEMBLY

’ OPPOSITION TO BILL. LONDON. Sept. 2|. Tlie Prague correspondent of the “Times” says that although a smooth passage was confidently predicted for a Bill to amend the Social Insurance Act, yesterday's sitting of the Czecho-Slo-valdan Parliament produced one of the most uproarious scenes ever recorded. The Opposition fought the Bill tooth and nail, and obstructed it by every means in their power. They shouted •down the Government speakers, and employed cat-calls, bells and syrens. They smashed desks and hurled bundles of papers at the Ministerial benches. Variety was added when ' they produced bags of lump sugar and.bombarded members of tho Government as a protest against tho rise in the price of sugar. A'votc was taken in tho early hours of the morning, and the Bill was passed. When tho members rose the House resembled a battle-ground.
