THE DEATH CLOCK
Those who believe in the strange legend of the death clock of Hampton Court are now confirmed in their faith (states the London ‘Daily Chronicle,-* jof July 19). 1 It stopped on Friday last, about the (hour that Lady MacGregor, widow of General Sir Charles MacGregor, died in St. Mary Abbots Hospital, Kensington. Lady MacGregor had occupied a suite in Hampton Court Palace for forty years. The clock, which was built in 1510, is said to have stopped on the night of March 2, 1619, on' the death at the Palace of Queen Anne of Denmark, wife of James I. Tradition says that ever since it has stopped whenever the death has occurred of anyone resident in the Pal--uce for any long period.
