SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Yesterday afternoon tho primary schools team, chosen last Saturday from the Palmerston North and surrounding schools, met a team of similar weight from the Palmerston North Technical School. In the first spell the Technical School had tho advantage of both sun and wind. Murray and McLeod scored, both tries being unconverted. In tho second spell the primary schoolboys asserted themselves, Gloyn going over from a forward rush. Keeping the attack, Parker scored after a good dribbling rush. Ward converted and “schools” led 8-6. Cameron was playing a great game for Tech, but was not supported. During one of nis characteristic runs ho passed out as usual, but A. Mutch intercepted and, with a fine run round the opposition from the half-way mark, scored a great try under the posts, to which Gloyn added the extra points . 13-6. Near the call of time Gloyn picked up from the ruck, stab-punted to a gap and raced over to add a good try. Ward’s kick went under the posts and time came with the scores, Schools 16, Technical 6.
