Forster Pratt, of Palmerston North, is a visitor to New Plymouth. Mrs. MaeAuley, who has. been visiting the North, has returned to Palmerston North. t Mrs. McEwen, of Palmerston North, has returned from a trip to the North. Miss Marie Sim, Palmerston North, is at present in Wellington. , , - Miss Joan Manning-Sannders, a 14r : years-oid Cornish artist, who has never had a painting lesson in her life, has had a picture accepted for this year's Eoyal Academy. It is called ■ 4 The 'Brothers" and is an oil painting depicting throe fishermen, two of whom are playing draughts, ‘while the tjtiird stands by watching. ■ ■ ' -L^fOn Saturday an enjoyable afternoon was given by Mrs. M. A. Eliott,;; of Palmerston North, for Miss, Lorha Fowler in view of her approaching marriage. Each guest took some linen article, and a novel competition b|;jgiieSr, sing the contents of each parcel v wbA Won by Miss Jean Pacey, and the booby prize went to Miss Eileen Seifert.
