PARENTS' WEEK
AT PALMERSTON NORTH Y.M.C.A. This week, from Monday till Saturday (July 23 to July 28 inclusive) tho Palmerstdn North Y.M.G.A. are conducting a Parents’ Week to give parents and friends some idea of the good work carried on by the- Association in Palmerston North. The ordinary activities of the Y.MVC.A, will come' as a revelation to many, - In this connection the Boys' "Division , Hobby Display in, the - Ford Motors wipdow, 'Rangltikci Street is full of interest, all the. exhibits, being tho,unaided work of bojm tinder twelve years of ago, who have been encouraged to make good use. of ■ their, spare time.' ’ 1 „ ' ‘: The Week’s Programme. • This ’ afternoon ladies may be. interested in the married ladies' class from g to 4 p.m.. The employed boys’ gymnasium class will be held from 3:30 till <5.45 p.m. . ; .. Boys and Boss Night. ■ To-night at G. 45 the boys, of;, the ;'/Cheerio Club’.’ wil entertain their employers to tea. Division • ■ The" High’ School boys ’ class will held their club mooting and gymnasium between 7 and 9 p.m. ' Saturday’s activities arc the newsboys club, 10 till: 11.30 a.ra. primary schools boys gymnasium 9 till 10.30 a,m., followed by the primary school girls’ class from, 10,30 till 12 p.m.. In tho afternoon the Y.M. girls’ basket ball competition will be held between 3 and 4 p.m.' . ;- •. ■' ■. " Interesting Experiment. The,whole scheme of Parents’ Week is a novel one ,tho idea being on tho saino lines as Parents’ Day, as conducted by the primary schools. It is an experiment that has as yet never been tried before in New Zealand and, should it prove as successful- as it ought, the idea will bo followed by many other branches throughout Now Zealand.'" A cordial welcome is extended to the public of Palmerston North to visit their. Y.M.C.A. and so become conversant with the many and varied healthy and useful activities fostered by that institution.
