The Daily Mail’s Toulouse correspondent reported that a Spaniard and three Frenchmen were arrested on the Franco-Spanish frontier following the discovery of a widespread plot to assassinate King Alfonso XIII, when with President Doumergue he inaugurated the new ’ Pyrenese tunnel connecting Franco-Spanish railways; The' two suspects arrested- were in possession of secret instructions from a Spanish anarchist committee at Barcelona ordering them to get the comrades ready, fit them but for an imminent ex-, peditiom, and to find arras ( at a point indicated across the frontier. The arrested men have been incarcerated at the ancient fortified city of Carcassonne, which President Donmorgue visited on Sunday in connection with the celebrations of its two thousandth anniversary. The plot is believed connected with the outbreaks of vast, fprest fires inside the French frontier, which were intended to be used as a re ben.
