“NO MORE WAR”

To-morrow evening in the Palace Theatre Mr. A. W. Page M.A. of the No. More War Movement will deliver an address on the subject 'of ‘'No More War.” The object of the movement which Mr. Page represents is to arouse a righteous ’hatred of warfare and to stimulate a desire for \peace. Mr. Pago is a well known worker for the cause of peace in Christchurch. He once occupied a responsible position in the teaching profession but was dismissed owing to his determination to add to the oath of allegiance a qualification reserving to him the right to place, his duty to his God first. On that occasion', numerous testimonies ‘ were given ,by v his fellow teachers to his character and' ability. As a student of social problems in order to gain an insight into mining conditions he spent six months working in the mines on the West Coast. All thoughtful citizens are concerned about the problem of war and Mr. Page’s address morrow evening should attract a large audience. The address will commence at twenty minutes past eight,. this arrangement having been arrived at in order to enable Church members to whom the subject should be of vital interest to be present.
