ARREST MADE IN OTAGO CHINESE MURDER CASE
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. Charged with the murder of Joe Shum, a Chinaman, at the Kyeburn diggings on Tuesday, William John Hardy was arrested nt Dunedin this morning. * This man left the Otago Central express at Caversham on Wednesday evening, leaving his swag in a carriage Ho was found yesterday and detained as a suspect. In the meantime the dead man's mate, Sue Pec, was motored to town andj following an identification parade, Hardy was arrested and charged in the Police Court to-day and remanded for eight days. Accused is 25 years of age, over six feet high. He has gaunt features.
