RECEIVED SHOCK FROM LIVE WIRE
PAINTER HURT WHILE WORKING ©N HOUSE. An accident which might easily have had serious consequences oceured ir Victoria Avenue on Wednesday. Mr. E. S. Redwood, while engaged in painting a house in that street \ came 'in contact with an electric wire leading into the building and received a severe shock which rendered him unconscious. Mr. Redwood, with a companion, Mr. A. Mason,, was working on a scaffolding in front of the. building, when the accident occurred. Mr. Mason acted very promptly, extricating the 1 injured man from his perilous position without delay. The manner in which Mr. Redwood came in contact with the wire.is, unknown but tho horopgh electrical authorities state that in order to ensure safety in such cases, workmen should always notify the Electrical Department to shut off the power while they are working in the vicinity of the wires. Apparently Mr. Redwood .got in between the two wires, touching the conduit and thus completing a circuit.
