: Abraham and "Williams Limited report having held a very .successful clearing sale of dairy cows on Monday last on account of Mr. W. E. Saunders, of Glejn Oroua. The herd .consisted of a very nice lot of young , Jersey and Jerseycross cows, several of which'were in full profit, the balance, coming to profit early. There was a good attendance and bidding was brisk throughout the sale. The average for the whole hero of 50; including seven heifers, was £ll/11/-. We quote as follows: Cows in milk.£7/10/-, £lO, £ll/5/-,£12,£12/10/-, £l3 to £ls, springing cows £6/10/-, £3 5/-, £9, £9/10/-, £lO, £ll, £l2, £l3/10/-, £l4/15/- to £l7. Half draught horse £26, spring carter £lO, store pigs 35/-, breeding sow £7/5/-. Sundries and furniture sold at late rates.

Dalgety and Co. Ltd., in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report having held a very successful dairy sale at the Palmerston North saloyards om Tuesday,. 17th inst. on account of Mr. S. Macaulay. Of the 80 odd cows offered, the great majority were Shorthorns and were in good condition.
