KUGBY. From Our Own Correspondent. Halcombe juniors and Huntervilla juniors met oh the Eecreation grounds on Wednesday afternoon, wl|m a good clean game was played. Mr W. D. Pago had control of the whistle, the match ending in Halcombe’s favour by 11 points to 3. Ladies’ Hockey. An interested crowd of spectators gathered on Hinemoa’s grounds on Wednesday afternoon to witness the play between the Hinemoa and Tokorangi teams. With more than usual at stake, both teams put up a good fight for supremacy, and although Hinemoa was recognised as having slightly the best o£ the game throughout ,the final whistle 1 sounded with level scores—one all. Messrs Hcrdman and Teague, of Fcilding, efficiently carried out the duties of referees. The visitors were afterwards entertained at afternoon tea by the’ Hinemoa club. Halcombe Athletics v. The ladies put up a very good record, considering’ theii lack of training, scoring 34 games to the men’s 46. Tho ladies wei-e after wards ■ entertained at a supper by the members of the Cribbage' Club, thus ending a very pleasant and enpoyablo ; evening.
