Yesterday afternoon on the Showgrounds tho second round of the Men’s Hockey competition jns continued, Central OM Boys A defeating Palmerston 4—l, and Phoenix defeating Central Old Boys B 7—3 , ■ Crotxrt .pid Boys r. Palmwrston. *ln the first spell this was a very evenly contested though scrappy game. Duncan drew first blood for C. 0.8. and Stanborough; evened up for Palmerston, half time finding the scores 1 all. r In the second spell the yellows played a more finished game than their opponents,- Horo (2) and Bentley finding tthe net to give Central Old Boys ti# victory 4—1.-. ' . : ’ , Mr. V; Kyle carried the whistle. : Phoenix Win Eeasily. The game between Phoenix and Central Old Boys B was not taken at all seriously by the former team, _ who fielded only .seven men, while an eighth, W. Lundy,, hold the whistle. In the first spell the whites notched five goals, but eased up in the second to add another couple, while the “Bs” aided, and inspired by Mr. L. G. Berry scored throe. Phoenix' goals were shot E. Hoaro (4), T, Pratt, Ward and Dudley. •' For tho colts Harvey. Morgan and Honey each found tho not.
