CURING A LEAKY SCUTTLE
A very irritating fault with, some cars that have seen considerable service is a leaky scuttle, so that water drips on to the ankles of the driver, and often as not, on to his right foot, widely being more or less continually on the accelerator pedal, cannot be taken out of the way. If the car cannot bo spared for the attention of a coachbuilder it is sometimes possible to' trace the point at which the water enters and seal it with plasticine, such as can be obtained at any toy shop or general store. Plasticine has the advantage of remaining soft, so that it does not crack, as docs putty, -when subjected to vibration.
