RECORDING TELEPHONE TALKS
The French post office is introducing a machine for recording telephonic conversations. This apparatus has nowbeen utilised in the interests of justice The plaintiff in a will case found it necessary to have the statement made by a notary verified by a bailiff. The notary lived 500 miles from Paris, and for various reasons it was impossible to ask a bailiff to obtain a verification of his statement. Tho plaintiff got over the difficulty by calling the notary to the telephone, and the conversation was recorded in phonographic discs. Then the bailiff was sent for, and he took possession of the discs.
