FISHERMEN DECLARE SAW AMUNDSEN’S PLANE
BELIEVED HAS DESCENDED IN SOUTH SPITSBERGEN. Aust. Props Assn.—United Service, deceived, June JO, 5.‘5 p.m. 1 - LONDON, Juno 29. A message from Tromso states that fishermen returning from a fortnight’s cruise declared that they sighted Captain Amundsen’s seaplane on the evening of Juno 18, 60 miles northwest of Bear Island.. ■ ' The plane was flying toward South Cape, Spitsbergen. It was at a very low altitude, the fishermen declare, but the motor was working steadily. It is, believed that Captain Amundsen tyis' landed on the southern shores of Spitsbergen. Ships, have, been ordered there to search, for Captain Amundsen.
