99 PER CENT OF FARMS WITHOUT SURVEY PEGS
NO LAW TO COMPEL VENDOR TO SHOW THEM. Tlio Farmers Union meeting in Palmerston Nortli on Saturday received advice that legislation did not afford a purchaser the right to compel a vendor to show his boundary pegs, presumably ou the grounds of impracticably. As a matter of fact very few surveyors’ pegs existed as fencers often did not replace them when a boundary fence had been erected. The only way a purchaser could sec the pegs would be to insist upon seeing them before completing his purchase and if the vendor had to get a re-sur-vey it was certain that the purchaser would ultimately have to pay for it. If Ihc inspection of boundary pegs was insisted upon, it would mean that 90 per cent, of the farms for sale would have to be rc-survcycd.
