CATTLE PROM AMERICA

CONSIGNMENTS OF JERSEYS.

From time to time Jersey bulls have been imported to New Zealand from America and Jersey Island, and at odd intervals, females of this breed have also been introduced. Cable advice has been received that Mr T. S. Cooper, of Linden Grove, Coopersburg, Penn. U.S.A., is shipping direct from New York to Wellington a consignment comprising 14 head of highly bred cattle, including two notable young sires used in His great herd, Oxford Beau’s Combination and Oswald’s Victor. These two bulls arc rising four-year-olds and aro generally regarded to be two of the greatest Jcirscy bulls of their age in America to-day. A half brother to Oswald’s Victor is already in tho Dominion and has never been defeated in tho leading show-rings in Taranaki. Oswald’s Victor is closely related on the dam’s side to Fauvie’s Prince, the leading sire of 10001 b. butter-fat cows in the world.

Oxford Beau’s Combination is held in. America to be the greatest living son of Combination’s Premier. Tho arrival of this bull in New Zealand will undoubtedly be a great event in the history of tho dairying industry, for accompanying him will be two of his yearling sons and five of his yearling daughters. In addition, Mr Cooper is shipping a number of other very high class females, all of which are in calf to notable sites.

It is understood that Mr Cooper, who has been a breeder and importer of Jerseys for nearly CO years, will himself arrive in New Zealand in. August. His consignment of cattle have been shipped direct to Wright Stephenson and Company, Limited.
