FILM-ACTING APES
A large colony ot apes, owned by Mme. Rosalie Abreu, of Havana, has been filmed by a cinema company in cd operation with the department of anthropology at Harvard University as a step in the making of a scries of educational films on anthropological subjects. Mme. Abreu’s collection of apes was started about 30 years ago, and now contains 130' simians of 25 species.- One of the 12 chimpanzees screened proved to be a real film actor, and instead of walking like his mates, ho stood erect, “showing off” before the camera.
