* MANAWATU BEAT MAETON. At Marton 20 members of the Manawatu Golf Club played a most enjoyable match against the Marton Golf Club, who entertained tho visting team lavishly. At the conclusion of tho match, the Manawatu captain, Mr. W. L. Fitzherbert, expressed his team’s! appreciation of the hospitality they had I received, and of the excellent condition of the links, and hearty cheers were given for the Marton Club. Manawatu won by 20 (14 singles and 6 four-ball matches) to 9 (5 singles, and 4 four-ball matches). The .results are as follows, the Manawatu players being mentioned first:— Singles. A. E.
