market to Epsom would possibly account for that. At Newmarket last mouth Scuttle won, with Toboggan seven lengths away in third place. Toboggan apparent]y is the bettor stayer of the pair. Tho result would be disappointing to the multitude, for a success for the Royal colours would have been popular. Toboggan’s success would recompense Lord Derby in some measure for Fairway’s Derby failure. Jurisdiction, who finished second in the One Thousand Guineas, failed to gain a place in the Oaks. Flcgcre, who finished third yesterday was not started in the One Thousand Guineas. Last year she started five times and at her last start recorded her best, which was a modest third in a six-furlong two-ycar-old handicap at Manchester.
