Prices for fat sheep, particularly lambs, reached their highest at the Pcilding stock sale yesterday, when a heavy yarding of nicely finished linos, came forward, and sold rapidly. The lengthy summer, together with the phenomenal autumn, has been responsible for a wonderful growth of feed, and young stock have, in consequence, put on condition to an amazing degree. Lambs have fared particularly well and the quality of those offered yesterday commanded the utmost interest, and provoked astonishing competition. The result was that prices fairly shot up and a total clearance was recorded. Fat lambs sold up. to £2/5/-, ewes to £2/1/-, b.f. lambs to £2/0/6, and wethers to 40/-. Yesterday’s sale was easily the best this year. There was also a good yarding of fat cattle, which also found a ready market at improved rates. Bullocks sold up to £ll/15/-, heifers to £9/15/-, and cotvs to £9/12/6.

Mixed aged‘ ewes in lamb comprised the bulk of the entry of store sheep, and with the exception of exceptional entries, these sold at late rates. Stud Southdown ewes r.w. stud S.D. rams changed hands at 51 gns., and a line of stud S.D. ram lambs sold at the same figure. ' In the dairy section some choice springing heifers and cows found a favourable market at late rates .
