A verdict of accidential drowming was returned at the inquest at Eangiriri on Wednesday concerning the death of a Maori named Kacho on May 27. Deceased pursued an unbroken horse into Lake Whangapc. He rode another horse, whence he transferred to the colt. The colt sank and another Maori tried to swim a horse to the rescue and failed. Kaeho was unable to swim the ten chains to the shore.
