TINKERING VOCATION, BUT THEFT AVOCATION
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Magistrate’s Court Henry Patrick, aged 38, pleaded guilty _to eight charges of breaking and entering various houses early this month and committing theft. The police said that the accused travelled round as a tinker. To gain an entrance he broke the Icadlights over doors or windows and then loosened the catch. In all he had taken £IOO worth of goods and jewellery from eight houses. Ho was caught in the act in a Sydenham house. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence bail not being applied for.
