BREACHES MOTOR REGULATIONS
“He \uls anything but polite' to tho constable,” said Wergeant Cahill in IHo Foil ding Magistrate’s Court yesterday when detailing tho circumstances of t*.vo charges against Howard Wallace Tolley for breaches of the motor vehicle’ regulations. The charges concerned the driving of a motor cycle with more than two persons and failure to produce driver’s license when requested so to do.
Constable McCall said that he stopped defendant when he was driving a motor cycle with two girls sitting behind. Witness told defendant that this was a breach of the motor vehicle regulations and when requested to produce his driver’s license ho refused to do so and adopted an attitude which was anything but pleasant. Thtc magistrate, Me. .1. I/. Stout, S.M., imposed a fine of 10/- on each charge together with costs. Other Cases. For using a motor cycle which did not bear any registered number James Clarke was fined 10/- and costs It!/*. It. B. Jordan, who left his car standing in a road at night without lights showing, was fined £1 and 10/- costs. On a charge of exposing for sale sheep infected with lice, Gordon McVicar was lined £2 and costs 12/-. Civil Business. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases: — Charles McDonald v. George Watts £l, costs S/-; E. M. Meßrearty v. J. Keynolds 10/-, costs S/-; J. 0. Thackcry v. Henry Hammond £l/7/0, costs
£t/3/G. In Iho judgment summons case, ■fames Logan v. Tau Kaka, defendant was given seven days in which to pay £3/7/-, the default being fixed at four days imprisonment.
