The St. Gothard Pass machine-gun parts which were the cause of international trouble have been sold as sorap iron for £6O. The purchasers have agreed to a request by the Hungarian State Railways not to remove lots pending a League of Nations inquiry. A storm is blowing up between Austria and Italy. A fierce centreversy culminated in a debate in the Austrian Chamber when the Tyrol member with unanimous approval indicted in a lengthy address the Italian administration of South Tyrol in which there are 200,000 Germanspeaking people, Ho and other make amazing allegations of ill-treatment of German women as well as men, breaking up of homes and a denial of free speech. Dt. Seipol, the Austrian Premier said —“The state of affairs weighs on my heart, but Austria must rely on the opinion of the world for she is powerless. ”

Meantime two Deputies presented the question in the Chamber wherein allusion was made to a campaign of lies in responsible quarters in Austria. MINISTER RETURNS TO ROME.
