light Rains Probable (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. A. shallow cyclone is centred over the North Island and a . weak anticyclone over the south Tasman Sea. The forecast is for south to east winds fresh to strong on the Bast Coast between Banks Peninsula and East Cape and in Cook Strait; moderate elsewhere. Bough seas in Cook Strait and between Lyttelton and East Cape. Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds and smooth to moderate sea in Tasman Sea. Weather fine on the West Coast of the South Island and in Otago; otherwise cold and cloudy to overcast and unsettled with further rain, heavy in parts of the eastern districts of the North Island' hut chiefly light misty elsewhere and' improving from the southwards ' especially in districts with a westerly ■ aspect.
