The six acceptors, went to- the post in the Harrison ■ Handicap. It was an excellent start, Huikai, Waicullus, Euanui Tioga, and Hipo . being in . a lino going out of the straight, with Hallownoon behind. Huikai assumed the lead into the back, followed -by Waicullus, Euanui, Tioga, Hipo, and Hallownoon. Hallownoon ran up on the outer along the back into second berth, but had slipped back to fourth at the bend. Tioga improved on the bend and was with Huikai into the straight, followed by Euanui, Waicullus, Hipo, and Hallownoon. Tiega looked a sure winner at the distance but Hipo came with a great burst on the outside and the favourite had to be ridden all out to throw off the challenge, prevailing by half a length, Hipo being four lengths ahead of Huikai. Waicullus was alongside Huikai fourth, then came Euanui and Hallownoon,

Tiega -was first into the straight instead of almost last as on tho first day, otherwise ho would never have withstood Hilo’s astounding burst over the last half furlong. Ruanui faded away, down the straight but will bo 'worth watching. Kiosk’s Great Effort. Paganelli’s withdrawal from the Jackson Stakes robbed tho race of some of its potential interest, but in Eeromoana, Lysandcr. Kiosk, and Prince Humphrey a fine quartet remained. The field approached the barrier in a

There was no delay at the tapes, Sovcna showing the way 1 out to Royal Acre, Kawhakina, Capita--1 lation and Limosa. In this order the field passed out of the straight. Goi ing into the back Sovcna had opened a three-length break, and Limosa was , coming up on the outer. By the time , they had reached the bend. Limosa was on terms with Sovcna, then Kawhakina and Royal Acre together,, and Capitulation last. Sovcna and Limosa led into the straight, where Kawhakina commenced his run, sustaining it long enough to wear down the leaders and to ( win by a length and a half from Sovcna, with Capitulation, who made a strong effort from the back on the ( outside, another length away. Then ' came Limosa and Royal Acre. Kawhakina ran a different race from , the first day, which however was over six ( furlongs. On Thursday ho tailed i the field with Limosa the whole jourt WCy. Capitulation was badly placed at the straight' entrance and had too much leeway to make-up. Royal Acre faded away in the run home, j Tlega—Ridden Out.

line, tho tapes. going 'ip while the horses were still some half chain away, which probably contributed to the apparently slow time —1.13 3-5. They moved off perfectly, but Kiosk soon dropped to the rear. A furlong gone Prince Humphrey ran to tho front taking the rails, followed by Eoremoana, Lysandcr, and Kiosk. Rcremoana gathered ip the leader on the bend and Kiosk passed Lysandcr into third berth. Prince Humphrey may have had a shade the better of it as they entered the straight, with Kiosk coming up fast on the outside. Lined up for home Prince Humphrey, Eeremoana and Kiosk in that order from the rails, raced neck and neck for the post, the Tea Tray horse prevailing over the last chain to win by a neck from the favourite, who was a bare nose in front of Prince Humphrey. Lysandcr was six lengths further back.

Kiosk received a warm ovation on returning to the bird cage. His was an astounding effort from the distance, gathering in the leaders, and then forging the necessary bit ahead. He showed that ho probably did not make his best effort in the Flying on tho first day, when ho was hopelessly placed on reaching the home stretch. The time was 2-5 second slower than Paganelli’s on Thursday, Eilbum Makes Amends. ,

All the acceptor!* went to the post in the Hurdles, including new-comers in Powhiri, Mountain-Bell and Hymgreat. Nucleus led out from Elysianor and Hymgreat, with Kilburn last; but over tho first hurdle Powhiri and Elysianor took up the running from Hymgreat, Mountain Bell ,Matu, Nucleus, and Kilburn. On the bend Hymgreat went to the front and led past the stands from Elysianor, Mountain Bell, Powhiri, Matu, Nucleus, and Kilburn. Leaving tho straight Mountain Bell ran up to second,- but going into the back Elysianor and Powhiri again moved up, Mountain Bell dropping back to fourth Kilburn began to improve along tho back, and was'fifth at the bend. Hyragreat was failing as they turned to tho last hurdle, where Elysianor led Powhiri, Hymgreat, and Kilburn, with Nucleus last. Once over the last hurdle Kilburn had too much pace,’ and raced to the fore on the outer to win easily by three lengths from Powhiri, who was half a length ahead of Hymgreat, Matu a nose away, fourth. Then came Elysianor, Mountain Bell, . and Nucleus.

The favourite never improved. Kilburn ran the same race as ho did on the first day but ho was handier'at the last fence. His jumping, too, was better, and the slower time suited him.

Won by Jockeyma.nshlp. The pen was not used in the Autumn 'Hack Handicap. Royal Elm was unsteady at the barrier, but an excellent r dispatch saw Royal Elm. lead out from King Midas, War Wings, Whisognc, Polydectcs, Ladykillor, Some Lad, Aropeta, Service, and Discourse. War Wings displaced Royal Elm into the back and Whisognc ran up into seo- ’ ond berth. Polydectcs came up on the 1 outer ahead of King Midas, LaVlykiller being next. At the bend Discourse from the back moved up very quickly on the outer, and Polydectcs 1 and Ladykillcr improved, while War Wings was failing. 'Whisognc led into the straight from Polydectcs, Ladykiller, Discourse, and Some Lad, with 1 the others bunched. At the distance Ladykillcr commenced a faster run on the outside of Polydectcs and Whisognc, while Discourse was looking for the same sort of opening she got on [ Thursday, Ladykiller had too many guns for the others, and nicely brought 1 along by Green, won by a good head from Discourse who was.moving very quickly once through a gap. Polydectcs was a nose away third, then came Whisognc, King Midas, Some Lad, Royal Elm, Service Aropcta, and War Wings.' Jockoymanship won the race for Ladykillor who over the last four furlongs, was compelled- to move up on the outside of the field. Green gave the gelding every assistance in the straight. Polydectcs ran a very creditable race considering his impost, but King Midas was never dangerous. Discourse would have won a little further, having to travel through the held to the leaders. Stratton, Green’s stablemate, again rode an excellent race on Some Lad, and is a sort who will bo winning races soon. Whisognc will win when the company is not so strong. Joy Bird Lasts Out. Another full card of acceptors went to tho starter in the Earl Stakes. After a quick dispatch Oir Jack quickly took up tho running from Yoma, Mundane, David Garrick, Joy Bird, Opn Henna and Hover. Our Jack led into the'straight and thence past tho stands from David Garrick, Joy Bird, Yorna, Mandane, Opa, Novar, and Henna. Going out of the straight Jo/ Bird wont (up to tho front and *icd tho field into the back, where Our Jaoc had dropped cut of it and David Garrick, Mundane, Yoma and Novar wore the nearest to the loader, Mandano seemed to get a bump and dropped back to hist, but before the bend was reached had moved up on the outer to fourth boith behind .Toy Bird, David Garrick and Yoma, Novar was hero making a forward burst. Joy Bird led into the straight from David Garrick, Mandane and Yoma. In u ding dong tusscl from the distance Joy Bird lasted out to win by half a nock from Mandane, with Yoma on the rails a bead away third. Then, came David Garrick, Novar, Henna, Opa and Our Jack. Maijdauc got badly knocked back

five furlongs from homo or else would probably have been the winner. Yoma was always well placed, but was not quite good enough- He had an open ran on the rails down the straight. T. Green’s Second.

Vcxillum declined his engagement ini the Matarawa Handicap. Yawl was' responsible for delay at the barrier, j Then Dimmer anticipated the tapes. The field eventually was well enough dispatched, with the exception of Yawl and Thrift, who were left several lengths. Eka, took up .the early running from The Raider, Helotis, White Ringlet, King Mart, Le Champ and Dimmer. Along the back Helotis displaced The Raider who was not noticed again. King Mart was improving. At the bond Le Champ moved up very quickly on the outer, and Dimmer went forward as well. Helotis led White Ringlet into the straight, then Le Champ, Eka, White Ringlet, Dimmer and Paul Lucerne all handy. In the run from the distance Dimmer and Paul Lucerne had too much pace, the former prevailing by half a neck with Eka three quarters of a length away third. Le Champ was close up well out, then came Helotis, White Ringlet, and King Mart. Thrift and' Double Mint, were last home.

Tho Eaider started well but faded right away. Ho has lost his early dash. Eka ran a bettor race, than she has for some time, B. H. Morris replaced her usual pilot, T. Tito., Paul Lucerne again came with a great rush down the straight from nowhere, and Dimmer was nicely Tidin', gradually improving from the bond. Hclotis probably made her effort too soon. Le Champ lacked finishing brilliance, but ran a good, race, favourite the Farewell,

All the acceptors faced the tapes in the Farewell Handicap for which Shirley was made a good favourite. High Finance began best, showing the way out to Shirley, Sarehoc, Limited, Lady Cavendish, Tip Tree, and Melissa Melissa ran up behind Limited along the back, and the order otherwise was unchanged on the bend. High Finance led into the straight from Shirley and Sarchec. Lady Cavendish and Tip Tree were out of the hunt. Shirley ran past the leader at the distance, and Limited put in a challenge, but the Absurd lady was too good by ihroccpiartcrs of\u length, Sarchcc being two and a half\lehgths further back, and Melissa a imsc away fourth. Then came High Finance, Lady Cavendish and Tip Tree, re

High Finance again failed altogether in the straight. Limited would have needed wings to catch Shirley, Sarchcc ran a steady race, and may he heard more of later on. , Lady Cavendish was a disappointment.
