NO PROOF STOCK REJUVENATION HAS ECONOMIC VALUE

Even if Voronoff’s Claim Otherwise True

AGRICULTURISTS admit , „ POSSIBILITY (A.P.A. and Sun.) (Received Sunday, 8.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 18. Dr. Voronoff’s claim that he can effect a rejuvenation of live stock is possibly justified, says the report of a committee of Board of Agriculture experts after making inquiries in Algeria. ■ / The evidence however is not based on critical experimentation, and data' is at present insufficient to warrant an estimate of economic value. It is still questionable whether the method will become of considerable importance to the Empire. The claim to an increase of wool and body weight of rams is supported by figures and sheep shown, but tho conditiofis under which experiments have ■been made preclude the possibility of forming a critical opinion as to whether the direct economic advanages are or are not negligible. The claim that improved characterizations shown by rams after the experiments are transmitted to offspring involves an acceptance of the principle of heredity; and is not substantiated in the realm of science. Tho report suggests further and more jriti6al tests in Britain.
