AUSTRALIANS ALL OUT FOR 375 RUNS

Woodfull 165; Colt Schneider’s Bright 73 WELLINGTON NONE DOWN FOR 42 (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The weather was fine to-day with a fresh northerly breeze for the Australia v. Wellington cricket match. The wicket and outfield was firm and fast. After making 322 runs for the loss of four wickets, the Australians were all out for 375, the collapse being duo mainly to the fine bowling of Badcock who took four wickets for 82 runs. The fielding was good and the bowling generally steady. Schneider, a colt, gave the most sparkling display, while Woodfull’s exhibition was sound. The attendance was 4000 and the amount taken £225. All the Wellington team with the exception of the wicketkeeper was tried at bowling. Brice got Ponsford with an off break and early in his innings James missed a chance of stumpng Schneider. Lowry did well to get two wickets for 49 runs. Badcock bowled no fewer than 41 overs, ; 15 of which were maidens. His first four overs in point of fact were also maidens. In getting rid of those usually prolific run-getters, Ponsford, Kippax, and Richardson for a total of under 100 runs, Wellington did remarkably well. Their bowling all through had to be treated with the greatest respect. No liberties could be taken with it. In Wellington’s innings Blackie ought to have caught and bowled Foley in his third over.
