SYDNEY. Dec. 15. Thc ‘‘Daily Telegraph” says that thc outsanding feature revealed by tho inspection of thc season’s wheat crops in all districts is tho almost complete freedom from thc bunt or slinking smut infection. This tri-
umph of science was achieved by the investigations of Dr. Darnell Smith, of Sydney. The tests ran through several years befor 0 the result was placed in the hands, of the farmers. With tins year’s results before them probably 90 per cent of the farmers arc satisfied that bunt as ,an enemy is quiet at their mercy.
