TO TEST THE 'PHONES
A., simple experiment will prove whether the ’phonos are connected in the right way to a receiving set. Remove the cup and diaphragm from one earpiece, and fasten the 'phono tags to the output terminals of the set. Then see how many links of a si cel watch chain can bo lifted from the table by the magnets of the earpiece. If the ’phones arc connected in the right way, the magnets will be stronger when tiro battery is switched on. and will, therefore, lift more links of the chain. Should the lifting power be reduced when the current Is flowing, it is obvious that tho connections are wrong and should bo reversed.
