The unwelcome decision was more or less forced upon the school authorities by the soggincss of the ground after the heavy rains of Monday and Tuesday, Yesterday, however, proved all that could bo desired climatically and the sports were accordingly carried on with, the heats being got off in the morning so that the finalists alone would be on the track in the afternoon. Owing to Wednesday's postponomenfy there was not the large crowd of visitors present which usually graces the high school grounds on the occasion of the boys' sports meeting, but, nevertheless, quite a number of parents, old boys and friends were looking on during the afternoon. All arrangements for the entertainment of the visitors were thrown out of gear by the postponement, but, despite this, a splendid afternoon's athletics was witnessed. ,

Seymour put up the most outstanding performance of the day when ho jumped the splendid distance of 19ft. lliin. in the long jump, breaking the previous distance by 5J inches. Some very close and exciting finishes were witnessed, and at the conclusion of the sports, tho prize-cards were presented to the winners by Mrs. W. R. Birnio, who also capped the first fifteen of the school, there being eight new members to receive the coveted honor. After the presentation of prizes, tho rector, Mr. J.
