• “Mr Alexander Watson, the famous English entertainer, who is giving a series of two recitals in the Opera House on Saturday and Monday next, is “one. of the wonders of the century,” says the Melbourne ‘Age.’ Night after night, for several weeks, lie has single-handed entertained crowded houses in Melbourne with his great art. His memory, is phenomenal; he has given a different programme 'each night, which,represents about twenty different characters during the evening. It:is but to bear true witness to • the .triumph of his art and resourceful vitality to say that the listener had only to close his eyes to imagine that a complete company, and not one man was holding the attention of the house.

At his first recital on Saturday. h 3. will present an excerpt from Sir. J. M>, Barrie’s delightful stpry, “The Little Minister.” “The Little Minister’*; has been-the most -popular work Mr Watson has ever done at his Melbourne recitals; it had-to be repeated several times and hundreds have been turned away from each of the performances.
