REFUSED TO ALLOW MINER JOIN UNION
£250 DAMAGES AWARDED. (Pei Press Association). WESTPORT. Last Night. The Supreme Court. Justice Adams presiding, concluded the hearing today of the cas e in which John Patrick Leonard claimed £IOOO damages from Charles Hargreaves. Robert Brownlie and Joseph Hopkinson, and tinthe Grey and Bullor coal mine deputies, the underwriters a.nd the Industrial L'nion of Workers in connection with the refusal of the Miilerton Deputies Union to allow Leonard to join their Union. His Honour dismissed the claim against the Union whoso agreement was not registered under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. He also refused a mandamus but allowed £350 damages and costs against the three above-mentioned deputies.
