SUMMER-TIME BILL THROUGH COMMITTEE
Mr Sidey Agrees to Immaterial Amendment ALSO PASSES THIRD READING / [“Times” Special.] [Prom Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, Last Night. Mr. Sidey’s Summer Time Bill, consideration of which was interrupted on August 25 by the death of the Hon. V R. P. Bollard, was passed through the Committee stage after an all-night sitting resulting from, a vigorous stonewall by opponents to the measure, Tho only alteration effected, in tho Bill, which withstood many attempts at amendment, was the addition of a new clause allowing shearers and threshing mill employees working under awards of the Arbitration Court to work according to standard time unless they mutually agreed to work summer-time. Mr, T. K. Sidey was loudly applauded when thc Bill was finally put through thc Committee at 7 a.m. Tho third reading stage t deferred and tho House rose at 7.14 after passing tho Marriage Amendment Bill. BILL THROUGH LOWER HOUSE. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Thc Summer Time Bill was read a third time and passed bj the House to-night.
