FAT SHEEP UP 4/AT ADDINGTON SALE

Good Class Cattle Meet With Firmer Sale GOOD PRICES FOR FAT LAMBS • (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH. Last Night. At Addington market sheep entries were fih the light side to-day, but la.t cattle wore <Mtaln'heavily represented. Fat sheep showed a further advance and good classes of cattle also met with a slightly firmer sale. But poorconditioned steers and cows were hard to quit. . Store sheep.—Th e bulk of ■ the email entry were poor quality. Aged ewes, decent mouthed ewes and forward wethers sold well, and lames met with quite a brisk sale. Crossbred ewe lambs 19/1.1 to 22/9; inferior crossbred ewe lambs 14/; forward three-quarterbred wether lambs 14/5 to 15/9; forward cross-, bred lambs to 17/-; four and sixtoothed crossbred ewes 20/-, to 25/-; sound mouthed halfbred ewes. 25/; failing mouthed crossbred ewes 12/- to IS/-; aged halfbred ewes 6/10 to 7/8; forward four six and eight .toothed halfbred wethers 23/10 to 25/-; sound mouthed low conditioned wethers .15/9 to 17/4; six and eight toothed 'halfbred wethers 19/-; fourtoothed crossbred wethers 21/8. Fat lambs:—l4oo penned. A brjsk sale, art advance of up to a shilling per Mead being recorded. A truck lot of 66 averaged 29/1. The rates for export were exceeded. Fat sheep.—-Another . small entry and a very 'hot sale was showing another advance of up to 4/- a head and wethers to 3/-. Last week the respective advances were 3/- and 2/-. Extra prime heavy wethers 39/6 to 44/6; prime wethers 35/- to 39/-; medium wethers 31/- to 34/6; light wethers 26/6 to 30/6;' extra prime ewes 35/- to 39/4 prime ewes 29/D to 34/6; medium ewes 25/6 to 29/6; ewes 21/8 to 24/6; aged ewes 16/6 to 20/6. Fat - cattle.—iA heavy yarding of 615 head, but a sound sale at slightly better rates than last week for finished cattle. Vealers.—A keen demand for good calves. Twelv e to ,18-months sorts, made to v £6 10/-; and vealers from £2 5/- to £4 15/-, Store -cattle. —A line of 80 three and four-year Hereford - steers made £7 17/6. Other, stock forward were mostly cows./ Dairy cows.—-Best second to fourth ealvers made £8 to £l2 5/-; medium' £4 to £7 10/-; best heifers £6 to £10;. others £2-10/- -to £5 15/-. Fat pigs.—A small entry of baconers and fairly large one of porkers. Ther € was a slightly better market for porkers. Choppers, £3 10/- to £5 ,18/6; baconers £3 .5/- to £4 18/6' (average price'per lb, sfd to 6}d); porkers 43/- to 63/- (average price per lb, 7d to Bd.) There was a full yarding of beef and vealers also a good yarding of all classes of sheep, including some very heavy maiden ewes. Bidding throughout was good and everything changed hands at prices In excess of previous week’s quotations.
