WEEKLY MEETING OP COMMITTEE. s ——— The weekly meeting of tho Manawalu Rugby District Council was held last evening, when the President, Mr. M. A. Ongley, occupied the chair. Other members present were Messrs. P. O. Skoglund, XC. W. Eglinton, T. Pagan, R. E. Hatch, H. Hands, T. Collins, J. R. Hardle, H, Crawford, J. A. Colquhoun, E. Clevely, A. Trevena and 0. D. Fraser (secretary). ■■• Players Ordered Off. That N. Stevens (Peildlng) and D. Morgan (Woodville) had been ordered off the field for coming to 'blows was tbe report of tho referee in the third grade game between those two clubs on Saturday. ( He recommended that tho players be cautioned and 11 was decided to adopt this course. Relative to the ordering off the field of Ellis (Western United) for questioning the referee’s decision, Mr. H. Hands explained that the Incident was tho culminating point of a general warning. “It was needed and I move that no further action be taken,” he said and this met with the approval of the Council. Next Saturday’s Games. The Horowhenua Rugby Council advised that tho appointment of Mr. H. Kidson as referee for the game, Manawatu v. Horowhenua at Shannon next Saturday had been cancelled and the following names were submitted for selection: Messrs. E. Bevan, J. Sclascia, A George and K. Davis. —It was decided that tho secretary make further enquiries as to why the original selection did not prevail and in the event of a satisfactory reply, the apponitment of a referee bo left to the secretary and president. The Oroua sub-Union wrote, forwarding the names of Messrs. P. H. Thomson, J. Cantwell and N. J. Short as referees capable of controlling the match Manawatu B v. Oroua at Klmbolton next Saturday.—lt was decided that Mr, Short control the game. The manager of the A team on' Saturday will be Mr. R. E. Hatch while the B team’s manager will be Mr. E. Clevely. . .

Tho team to play at Shannon Is to travel by the Napier express and return by Feild’s express. The travelling arrangements of the B team were left to the secretary and Mr. Collins. Correspondence. Tho West End School Committee wrote, thanking the Council for its donation, of a ball , The St. Pat’s Club wrote, asking that H. Hoffman be regraded from senior to junior in order that he could play for the Club.—The application was granted. Tho Feilding Club wrote, protesting against tho delay in the starting of the senior games in Palmerston North for tho past two Saturdays.— It was decided to ask the referees to see that all early matches be terminated at three o'clock, General, The secretary reported that only two Old Boy teams had forwarded the list of the wearers of the numbers on tho players.—lt was decided that tho other clubs bo written to asking for their lists and that tho secretary arrange for the printing of the booklet.
