Visitors welcomed at yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North Citizens’ Lunch Club were Major F. Hume, of Palmerston North, and Mr ; Charles Simmons of Poston. At the annual meeting of the St. John’s Ambulance Nursing Division, held on Monday evening, a third-year medallion was presented to Miss Mlrrian Mayes, but her name was inadvertently omitted from the list published yesterday.
Mrs G. T. Brown of St. Andrew’s Manse leaves this morning for Werlington where she will spend a. few days as representative of the Palmerston North area at a conference of Youth Workers in connection with the New Zealand Alliance.
The Right Rev. L. S. Kempthorne, Anglican Bishop In Polynesia .arrived at Auckland from Suva by the Tofua yesterday and immediately transshipped to H.M.S. Diomede which left shortly afterwards for the South Sea Islands. The Bishop is paying his annual visit to outlying portions of his diocese in the Eastern Pacific and expects to pass through Auckland on his return to Fiji in August. The Bishop is a New Zealander, having been born at Nelson in 188 G.
