“If all licensees throughout New Zealand were of the: calibre of Mr. Dooley, I believe there would be very little worry over licensing legislation,” said Mr. J. Gordon Eliott, M.P., when making presentations to Mr. and Mrs. Dooley (late of the Denbigh Hotel) on Wednesday evening. For riding a motor-cycle at night without a light, Edwin Harford was fined 10s by Mr. J. D. Stout, S.M., at the Feilding Magistrate’s Court yesterday. In connection’with the West Coast Polo Clubs’ Association Handicap Cup, at present held by the Feilding B team a competition is to be held shortly to decide the holder for the ensuing year. A team from Parewanui has entered and three or four good games should result.
A practice Rugby match will be held on the polo ground to-morrow afternoon. The Feilding Agricultural High School- sports will be held on the School ground to-morrow. Mr. F. A. Edwards is considering a request to accept nomination for the Borough Council as a representative of the workers.
