DEADLOCK IN CLYDE STRIKE
MANAGEMENT REFUSES RE- ’ QUEST FOB CONFERENCE. [By Electric Cable-Copyright] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Tuesday, 7.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 5. A deadlock has been reached in connection with tho Clyde engineering strike, tho management refusing the shop committee’s request for- a conference, stating they had no quarrel with tho men and refused to treat with tho committee when no dispute existed. Meanwhile tho men are losing £I4OO daily in wages. It ig expected the men will now endeavour to secure the intervention of the Trades Labour Council.
